The man I’m in love with and I have been having a two year long affair and I had a dream that I was at his home and we started having sex and his 18 year old son was in the room and got up and left. Then his 15 year old daughter came in and he stopped and got up and went out to talk to both of them. He is about to have prostate cancer surgery and we are trying to cut things off.
Dreams often reflect our emotions, desires, and anxieties, and they can be particularly vivid when they involve significant relationships or life changes. Here are some interpretations of the elements in your dream:
Affair Context: Your ongoing affair may symbolize both passion and complexity. Dreaming about intimacy in the context of this relationship suggests a deep emotional release or desire for closeness, but the presence of his children implies a conflict between your feelings and the reality of the situation.
Presence of the Son and Daughter: Their presence could represent the consequences of your relationship not only for you and him but also for his family. The son leaving the room might symbolize a sense of awareness or discomfort about your affair, while the daughter's entrance could suggest unavoidable realities of family dynamics and responsibilities. It may also reflect concerns about the impact of your relationship on others.
Stopping to Talk: When the man you love chooses to leave the intimate moment to speak with his children, it may represent his conflicting priorities. It could indicate that he feels the need to address his family obligations, especially during a challenging time like facing surgery. This might suggest feelings of guilt or a desire for a more stable situation amidst chaos.
Prostate Cancer Surgery: The looming surgery can be symbolic of significant transitions in life. It may represent fear of loss, not just of him but also as a broader existential concern about health and the future. This situation may be weighing heavily on your mind, influencing feelings of attachment and uncertainty regarding the affair.
Trying to Cut Things Off: This theme could symbolize your desire for clarity and resolution. You may be grappling with feelings about continuing the affair amid the potential changes in both of your lives.
Overall, this dream might reflect a mixture of desires for intimacy, concern for the dynamics within his family, and the looming reality of potential change due to his health and the implications for your relationship. It may be beneficial to evaluate your feelings about the affair and how it aligns with your future aspirations, particularly as you both navigate these challenging circumstances.
